ASSOCIATES DEGREE PROGRAM COURSE DESCRIPTION
TERM 1: FOUNDATIONS 4 Weeks
1. Introduction to the Bible (3 credits)
This course provides an overview of the Bible’s structure, inspiration, authorship, and canon. Students will explore how the Bible came to be, major themes, and how to navigate it with clarity and reverence.

2. Christian Life & Spiritual Formation (3 credits)
This course helps students develop habits of prayer, devotion, fasting, journaling, and identity formation in Christ. It emphasizes intimacy with God and living from a place of spiritual health and rootedness.

TERM 2: 16 Weeks
3. Old Testament Survey I: Genesis – 2 Samuel (3 credits)
A broad survey of the Pentateuch and historical books, examining creation, covenant, Israel’s formation, and God’s redemptive plan. Emphasis is placed on theological themes, characters, and divine promises.

4. Theology I: The Doctrine of God, Christ & Salvation (3 credits)
Explores the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith: the nature and attributes of God, the person of Jesus Christ, and the doctrine of salvation (soteriology). Students will engage key Scriptures and theological debates.

5. Biblical Hermeneutics (3 credits)
Equips students with tools to rightly divide the Word of God. Covers observation, interpretation, application, genre studies, context, and the role of the Holy Spirit in understanding Scripture.

6. Evangelism & Discipleship (3 credits)
Students will learn to share the Gospel clearly and cultivate a lifestyle of disciple-making. The course includes personal evangelism, mentorship models, and church-based discipleship strategies.
TERM 3: 16 Weeks
7. New Testament Survey I: Gospels & Acts (3 credits)
An introduction to the life of Christ and the early church. This course explores the Synoptic Gospels, John, and Acts, focusing on Jesus’ ministry, message, miracles, and the expansion of the Kingdom.

8. Old Testament Survey II: 1 Kings – Malachi (3 credits)
Continues the Old Testament journey through the monarchy, exile, and prophetic books. Focus is given to Israel’s spiritual decline, God’s judgment, and promises of restoration through the Messiah.

9. Theology II: Holy Spirit, the Church, Humanity & End Times (3 credits)
Covers four key areas of theology: Pneumatology (Holy Spirit), Ecclesiology (Church), Anthropology (Man), and Eschatology (Last Things). Students will engage both doctrine and application in ministry.
10. Church History I: Early Church to Reformation (3 credits)
Surveys major events, figures, and theological developments from the book of Acts through the Protestant Reformation. Emphasis is placed on how history has shaped contemporary church practice.
