what we believe

God

We believe that there is one true living God, who manifests Himself equally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  God revealed His power, authority, wisdom, and compassion in the beginning by creating the world and everything that is in it.  Through His divine power, God continues to uphold and strengthen His creation, ensuring that His redemptive purposes are fulfilled.

Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and was fully made human for the purpose of victory over sin and redemption of all mankind.  He is the only human to ever live a completely sinless life, living in total obedience to the Father.  Jesus was born of a virgin, performed many miracles, and voluntarily paid for the sins of all mankind by dying on the cross as their substitute.  After His physical death, Jesus was arisen from the dead and ascended into heaven, and was seated on the right hand of the Father, serving as the only mediator and intercessor between God and man.  He has made a promise to return to the earth in order to fulfill history and complete the eternal plan of God.

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, enlightening the mind of sinners to their need for salvation. The Holy Spirit baptizes all believers into the body of Christ, indwells in them through salvation and seals them until the day of redemption. The Holy Spirit comforts, guides, and teaches all believers in their understanding of the Bible.  Received by faith, the Holy Spirit empowers believers by releasing gifts for the building of the church and leads them into Christ like character in all phases of their life.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible (Old and New Testaments) is the authoritative word of God. It originated with God and He revealed His truths to chosen authors that were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write. The Scriptures reveal the authority of God and are (original manuscripts) inerrant and infallible.  We believe that the Scriptures possess the matters of faith, doctrine, and principles needed for all to produce the fruit for the Father’s glory.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is the work of redemption to all mankind who are willing to receive.  We believe that mankind was originally created to be in relationship with God, but through an act of defiance was rendered hopeless and in danger of eternal damnation. This act of defiance took place at the beginning of human history, and since all humans have had to endure the consequences of the act and in need of saving grace.  God in His love, not desiring that any should perish, through grace sent Christ into the world for payment of this sinful act.  Salvation is a free gift from God and cannot be earned through any work or effort from humans.  Each person can receive salvation through the gift of repentance and faith in Christ’s redemptive work.

Water Baptism

We believe that baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation that takes place in every believer through accepting the atoning work of Christ.

Lord’s Supper

During His last days on earth, Jesus brought His disciples together and asked them to partake in consuming bread and wine “in remembrance of Him.” Today, we observe the act of consuming bread and wine in order to remember Jesus, who gave Himself for the sins of mankind.

5 Fold Ministry

We believe in the 5 fold ministry (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers) for the purpose of equipping the believers in Christ to do the work of service in the earth, for the glory of God.
